0 Barren

Barren planets are cold, dry worlds, without much atmosphere. The lack 
of moisture and the lack of breathable air make it impossible to grow
plants of any kind. Large ore deposits have been known to exist on
these planets, but you will have to work to get at them. For the most
part, it is wise to start colonies elsewhere.

Desert planets are a little on the warm size with atmospheres
that sit a little thinner than the average Terran norms. It is
not impossible to grow things on one of these planets, but

2 Ocean

Ocean planets are almost completely covered by water.
Farming is excellent, however, as hydroponic farming and
reef harvesting is abundant and easy to do. Building a citadel
will take some time, but if Organics are your desire, this planet
will not disappoint you in the least.

planets, but other than that, they are about the same. There is
a lack of surface water, but a colony could thrive here if you

4 Radiated

Radiated planets have very thin atmospheres and surfaces
that have been irradiated by exposure to stars that has been
far too intense for the planets to be useful. Structures can
be constructed on these planets, but with limited effect. If you
got one of these in a Genesis Torpedo, something went wrong
with the creation of the dwarf star and caused this effect on the
planet that now sits in front of you. The recommendation of the
planetary expansion program is to blow this one and try again.

6 Toxic

Toxic planets are horribly harsh environments, with very thick
atmospheres. The environment is very hostile and excessively hot.
Nothing can be built on a Toxic planet; the acidic rain and corrosive
chemicals found in the air prevent any kind of structure and all forms
of life. It has been rumored that Toxic planets have vast treasures
hidden somewhere in their inaccessible surfaces, but this has
never been substantiated.

7 Swamp

Swamp planets are very wet, but other than the muck
and mire, their weather patterns are very similar to that
of a Terran planet. Growing things is difficult due to the fact
that the ground is water-saturated, but it can be done.
Colonies can do well on a Swamp planet, though a little
extra work will need to be done to pump excess water
away from structures you would like to build.

Terran planets are earth-like in their climates. They
are excellent for colony growth, and provide good
opportunites to mine, farm, and develop technology.
Developing a colony is not too diffucult here; the
colonists tend to enjoy the environment (except for
the ones who hate the winter time), and work is not hard.

Gaia planets are the paradise worlds that everyone
dreams to live on. They have the perfect climates, being
superior even to Terran worlds. Opportunities for production
of all kinds are fantastic, with the colonists enjoying working
just because it gives them an opportunity to head outside
into the phenomenal environment. Building colonies on these
kind of worlds is not only an easy enterprise, but a recommended
course of action.

10 Orion

The original Orion planet was the home and paradise
of an ancient race of beings who were known for their
productivity and technology. Essentially, Orion is a Gaia
planet with extreme enhancements and very large size.
Weather patterns are calm, but extremely beautiful, and
Genesis Torpedoes have been modified to allow for this
planet's production. However, you never know what you'll 
get when you fire a torp, since Planetary Devlopment
Industries has tried to get either this planet or one in the
line of Antares, and the mix often results in one of the other
types. However, Orion class planets are worth the wait and any
amount of money you have to spend to get one.

11 Antares

The original Antares was home to the Antarans, a race
of beings that were evil and hostile to the inhabitants of the
universe. They and the Orions warred for many years, and
eventually they were banished to another dimension. While
there, they landed on this planet and turned it into a veritable
fortress. They didn't find anything suitable to enhance their
already powerful technology or allow for the growth of crops
(they possessed food replicators), but the planet was rich
in ore to power their empire and fuel their massive weapons.
Once they figured out how to cross back into the dimension from
which they originated, they waged war on the good people of the
universe who lived at that time. The massive Orion empire was
no more, but the current inhabitants of the galaxy held off the
Antarans and, after discovering Orion and its technology, soundly
defeated the Antarans in their own dimension. Now, their planet
has been studied and able to be replicated. If your corporation is
in need of a planet to hold off invaders, you need one of these.
It will not disappoint you, but the only thing you'll be able to produce
on it is Fuel Ore.
